Yünsa, the largest integrated high-segment worsted wool fabric manufacturer in Europe and one of the five biggest in the world, was founded in 1973 and went public in 1990. Sabancı Holding (HOSH) owns 57.88% of the common stock, with the remaining shares publicly rated in the Borsa Istanbul stock exchange.
 
Yünsa started producing men’s worsted fabrics in 1973, later added women’s fabric to its portfolio in 1998. Yünsa primarily manufactures 100% worsted fabric, as well as worsted fabric blended with cashmere, lycra, viscose, cotton and linen. Yarn dyed, piece dyed, and top dyed fabrics are available with a range of different finishing applications such as washable, water repellent, UV protected, self-cleaning and natural stretch. In addition to 4,500 tons of worsted yarn, Yünsa produces and uses its own yarn that has 12.5 million meters of worsted capacity per year.
 
Yünsa has customers in more than 50 different countries, with Germany the company’s biggest market. Yünsa is the leading fabric supplier to some of the world’s major brands. 
 
Yünsa has offices located in the UK, Germany, Italy; and has agents in Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, Japan, Koreathe USAIranSerbiaFinlandRussiaSlovakia and Czechia. Yünsa also has design studios in Biella, Italy and Çerkezköy, Turkey. Yünsa exhibits its collections of fabrics every season at the world’s most influential textile fairs Première Vision Paris, New York, Munich Fabric Start and London Textile Fair.
 
While Yünsa has adopted ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 Quality Standars, the Hohenstein Institute in Germany has licensed the operation with the Eko-Tax 100, which certifies that Yünsa’s products are not hazardous to environment or health. Yünsa has also accreditations from the labs of Marks&Spencer, Next and Interwoollabs.
